The classes on the BISD campuses also emphasize the history and content of the Museum’s Permanent Collection. Students learn the importance of documenting their environment and family. For their activity, “They list all the things they encounter in their own little world,” explained Sue Tarrant, teacher. “Then they come up with symbols to represent the various facts of their lives and transfer them to their artwork.”

Las clases que se imparten en las escuelas del distrito escolar (BISD) también  enfatizan la historia y el contenido de la colección permanente del museo.  Los estudiantes aprenden la importancia de documentar y utilizar su medio ambiente y a sus familiares.  Para sus obras, “los estudiantes enlistan todas las cosas que encuentran en su propio mundo,” explica Sue Tarrant, maestra del programa.  “Entonces elaboran símbolos para representar los distintos hechos en sus vidas y de esta manera transformarlos en arte.”
